"We will," Plumb said after she had gotten over the slight shock, "Thank you." The two girls sat down in the fancy office seats then Mr. Yuno pushed the seats back in as if he were a gentleman this whole time. Plumb wasn't certain how she left about the sudden change, but Salak knew she hated it. She was even more confused now than the start. "So you want me to be transparent with you about this company's intentions. Is that correct?" His voice and his face were still cold but less threateningly so, "Very well. We reached out to your company by mistake. An employee of mine thought that he might get on my good side by contracting with a musician I enjoy. Somehow, he came to believe that your company is associated with said musician, but he quickly discovered that wasn't the case. However, according to his testimony..." Plumb couldn't help but think that was an odd word choice. Unless he interrogated the man. For some reason, she wouldn't put that past him. "...he decided he was going to honor the agreement despite the mistake. However, your company was hard to pin down, and despite his best efforts your company kept canceling meetings and giving outrageous demands. He had said that you came here today with your list of demands, so," Mr. Yuno leaned back in his chair, "now I have two conflicting stories. Which of them should I believe I wonder?" "I am certain we can provide proof of our story with our email history," Plumb eyed and she confirmed the possibility, "If you find that to be necessary, but may I ask when he told you this information?" "This very morning. He was supposed to have this meeting you, but he was quite suddenly needed elsewhere." "I see." Plumb said beginning to understand what might have happened. "Yes," Mr. Yuno said then he sat back up, "Now after knowing this. Does your company still want to work with mine?" Plumb looked at Salak who was nervously looking back at her. Plumb offered a smile. After a moment, Salak returned it then looked at Mr. Yuno. "If your company is interested then so are we, but we would like to be assigned a new representative." Salak said as confidently as she could. "We are interested, but we have our own requirement." He paused then looked directly at Plumb, "All future communications between our two companies shall be done through you." "I am new to the company, sir. I am sure there are others more capable. Are you certain this is your requirement?" "I am." Once again, the two girls looked at each other. Salak was sorry she had put Plumb in this position and was willing to let the sponsorship fall through if Plumb didn't want to do it. Plumb wasn't sure if she was qualified to take on the job, but she didn't want Salak's first sponsorship to fall through. "Very well." She answered. "Then we will also agree to your terms." Mr. Yuno got to his feet and extended his hand to Salak first. She shook it as she said, "Thank you, sir." "We hope it will be a pleasure doing business with you." Plumb said when it was he turn to shake his hand. The three returned to their seats as Mr. Yuno said, "Now shall we talk business?" Salak nodded. Closed her eyes. Remembered her script and successfully delivered her speech.
